So this month of harvast has resulted in us becoming pregnant. I'm not sure how I feel. Part of me is estatic, another baby! Another part of me is fearful! We have twins and who knows if we will have another set of twins considering that both Grex and I and my mother are twins. We don't have the space for another set of twins. We need to expand the farm just to accomadate the new family member(s) and that means taking out a loan...which in this economy is scary. Will we be able to make payments? Should we tap the equity of the farm and refinance? Should I begin looking for work outside the house or finding alternative ways to earn more money from our land. This is all so scary.

Busy Season

Resar 2000

The harvest season is here and I've been busy gathering crops. The twins have been helping as much as they can by watering the plants and helping me bait the hook for our small pond. Ginger is pregnant again, so we are looking into renovating the farm and adding additional rooms. Part of me wants to give up this back breaking work and settle in a small house and get a 9-5 job like the other sims, but then...I know I will miss the smell of dirt under my fingernails.

Thankfully the twins still see this work as fun. Ginger found them some nice work clothes, so now they can help in the fields without fear of getting pretty clothes spoiled and dirty. The market is doing well. We still sell fresh produce and fish, floral arrangements and hand crafted potholders and quilts. With the flood of tourists coming to the island looking for that small town charm as they call it, our items have been leaving the shelves quickly.

I thought nothing of it until Ginger annouced that she was pregnant. Now I feel like my days are numbered. Recollecting Memories

Resar 2000 This return to the ancient calendar is a bit like my years in TS1. I still marvel at how I actually experience the TS1 dimension and am around today in the new dimension and there is talk of another dimension. I know that we will not be going to the new dimension, but it is nice to dream about the things there. Matthew and I are getting older and I know that soon our time will come, I would love to be able to take a trip with him before death comes a calling.

Artistic Endeavours?

I've been thinking about taking up painting or pottery. I don't mind sewing, however I would rather spend my time creating artistic works that can be admired for generations to come. The daycare is going well, a little hard since it's just myself and mother sometimes to help against seven toddlers. Yikes! Thankfully they love to play with the crafting table and learn nursery rhymes, not to mention eat and sleep. Thank goodness for nap time :)

My days are numbered, I know it. Thankfully while there is still life in me, I will try to leave herilooms for my family. I am working on a teddy bear for the children and I would love to sew a nice simple dress for Ginger, however I am not sure it will be a nice heriloom.

The twins are so precious to us. They seem to enjoy the little crafting table, but not as much as I hoped they would. Mother wants to try taking them outside to roam the farm and play with the ladybugs and butterflies, but it's so cold out there that I would worry about thier health. I wish we had a fireplace, that would be nice to have on these cold winter days. A nice warm toasty fireplace.

The twins celebrated thier birthday. We didn't have a party, but a few cakes and some noise makers for the family. Both children got our thick brown hair, which was expected and already they both love to be read to. It's amazing how much they resemble Ginger and I. Ginger has been hinting about having another baby. I wouldn't mind, but knowing her genes, and mine, we would probably have another set of twins. I have to email my sister, Grigia, photos of the twins.

Wow, having babies in the house again is a strange feeling. I'm an old pro at it, after all I had five children including two sets of twins, but hearing thier giggles and cries during bathtime is still new and different. Soon they will celebrate thier birthday and then we'll have toddlers crawling about our feet.

I want to try a new recipe for stuffed rainbow trout. I have been gathering recipes in preperation for Christmas, can you believe it's so close! Just two more simdays and it will be here! I need to start decorating, I told Grex that he should sell Christmas decor, especially trees and wreaths, to residents so that they can prepare.

O, I burned the trout, which was a shame since we only had one and the pond has frozen over so I can't try the recipe again until spring :(

New Ventures

I had to change Jadhira 's duties since the new technology came out, I don't need a cashier, however she told me that she's a talented florist, so I will keep her on to arrange flowers. Right now the inventory is low, but she said that she would bring items from home to supplament the inventory. I gave her a little section of the market so customers know where to find the flowers.

The children built a small alcove for me to but my sewing machine in. Now I can sew undistrubed. I fear for the future of the Homemaker's Society. The current president, Carmela, is getting a little snobby to put it nicely. With her family's networth increasing she wants to do more "cultural" things in the society. No more lunch swaps, but more concerts and theater shows. Hmph, maybe she isn't the best president for the job after all.

Winter has come

Winter is here and I found a nice warm woolen skirt and shirt to wear. Mother laughed and said it looked like prarie wear, but what can I say. I am more of a farmer's wife than a superstar actress's granddaughter. I can not afford to purchase designer elements nor are the comfortable for the tasks about the farm. I didn't spend my years in english boarding schools or travel the world, so this woolen skirt will do just fine!

Trying to rush to harvest all the produce. The pond has frozen over, a clear indication of the coming frost and I must get the produce out before it freezes. The fruit trees will soon go dormant and then we will need to construct the greenhouse and start planting for the next crop. Thankfully my father-in-law is still helping, I think that once the twins get older they can help as well. But they're still too young now.

I visited the Medical Centre to pick up some medicine for the twins and also to look at the balloons. The Homemaker's Society has decided to give each family, upon the death of a family member, a bunch of balloons and a freshly cooked meal along with a few hours of cleaning. My job was to shop for balloons, so I brought a few extras as well.

Final Food Expo

The Food Expo has come to an end and what a magical time it has been. I was honored to make the annoucement about our expansion to Apple Valley Metro and answer any last minute questions.

I wonder if I will be around to see the next Food Expo. Ginger has been hinting at another child, but I think two is the perfect number. The world was made for families of four.

I decided to try the new juicer since I had a few pieces of produce that couldn't be packaged so I made some juice. It was ok, I don't like the face that so much produce only makes a single serving of juices, so we probably won't be using the juicer anytime soon.

Changes Ahead

The hood is slowly being replaced by the younger generation. I have no doubts that they can manage it, but already so many changes. Automatic cash registers even! I made sure that sims would not have to worry about unemployment, so I feel confident now. I spoke with the future Medical Director, he was with the Explorer group fishing. It was interesting to hear his goals and dreams for the Centre-especially since I will use it more as I age. I've been spending more time with Grex in the fields, the harvest arrived fast and furious, so we are working to gather everything. I feel like my days are numbered and I don't like it.

I am harvesting as fast as I can before the frost destroys the plants. With the Food Expo lectures and mingling with residents, I think that I will install a greenhouse. I will not have to worry about pests and can grow crops year-round. Of course that will take funding, so hopefully we will get the Chamber of Commerce prize this simday.

The Food Expo is wrapping up, but I've enjoyed it so very much! I brought a nectar bar for the kitchen so that I can continue my culinary studies.

O! I am starting a daycare-once the twins become toddlers of course. Since Grex is going to build a greenhouse, I will take over the lower protion of the barn for the daycare. A few toys, some sleeping mats and there-a daycare!

Chilly Winter

Winter is breathing down the back of our necks and I am aging even more. Ginger decided to redecorate the living area, I admit it, I like the more contemporary style-it reminds me of when we lived in Greymount and the house was decorated in an Art Deco style. Wow, how far we have fallen. No longer are we living in a large mansion with awards surrounding us, but we're in a farm...a farm!

Grex said that I could go shopping for some new clothing and even some items for our nursery. Yes, didn't I say. Father picked up some items for the nursery. Such the cutest crib and such. I love it. But I will need some maternity clothing soon. Mum is going to help me pick out a few things. Maybe we could have a massage as well. That would be nice.

Future of Homemaker's Society

I want to be like my mom, but happier of course. I want to be the leader of the Homemaker's Society. I could lead cleaning sessions and have a meal swap or picnics, that would be cool. Right now I must be content as a member since Carmela is the leader. She is a good leader and her home is so big.

We're planting crops-well, Grex is planting crops while I ready the house. I have decided to help clean houses on the island. I will offer my services for a minimum fee and on certain days I will clean houses. I think it's a good way to bring in some extra simoleans for something I love to do!

Grex and I visited the Green Tables for a couple's night out. It was fun seeing the residents again and meeting the new resident. Everyone is very curious about her, but she is so nice and outgoing. I think that she shall do well here.

Talking School

I ran into the Education Director today at the gift shop. We chatted about the pain of both of our wives being pregnant-the messy toliets, sensative moods and strange cravings. It was good to have another man to talk to about these things. I love Ginger, I do and I am so excited about the new baby on its way, but...well...it gets hard.

I'm pregnant and we're so happy! I've been telling everyone! Even the guests at Fiona's Bridal Shower! Mum and dad moved out of the main house and into the barn (there's a loft in the barn that they converted to a bedroom and they added a bathroom as well) to free up thier old room in the main house. Eventually we will have to build an addition to the main house-there are only two bedrooms and we want two children...I suppose they could share a room, but once they get teenagers they may want thier own space-especially if they're oft he opposite sex...I wonder if we'll have twins. I'm a twin and Grex is a twin. That would be interesting to have twins.

Time Alone

I had to get away from the house. The smell of the soil was sickening instead of it's usual sweet smell. The honeybees were driving me crazy and I didn't want to open the market. Instead I went to the Green Tables for a few hands on the card tables. It was actually a little bit crowded, which was odd. I guess everysim had the same idea. Well, with the lack of entertainment options-the Green Tables is pretty much the only place to go.

Blessed Harvest Day

The Blessed Harvest Festival will be held at the Farmer's Market for a few house. I have installed a food competition area at the market and rearranged some booths to make room for the festival. I need to transport a lecture booth for the lecture, but other than that things will be fine. There are pot holders and veggies and fruit and honey and turkey and fish for sale. Hopefully we'll get a little income from the event.

With the upcoming election I will have to give up my post as Financial Director. That would be fine if there were lots of candidates, but thus far, it's been quiet. Lots of sims have declared candidancy for the Community Director position, but only a few have indicated interest in the Financial Director position. Ginger is Finally Married

I say finally, but she's the first of our three daughters to marry and she might be the only one. Marilyn has went off exploring the world and she maintains that she's not the least bit interested in men. Hazel Starr has moved to Bottom Beach to be closer to work opportunities and her modeling contract. Thank goodness for that, otherwise she would simply be adrift without a job. She and Etta Leigh are sharing an apartment, for the time being, but the modeling keeps her busy while she looks for more acting opportunities.

Finally I am a woman. A married woman! The wedding was nice, very simple. And I think I'm pregnant! How wonderful! Soon there will be a baby...perhaps. I haven't been feeling very well and all I seem to think about is babies and baby stuff. Mom is helping Grex with the market by preparing turkey dinners. I am studying under her, learning to cook and she's teaching me some cleaning tips as well. Things are going wonderful!

Rain and Farming

Thank goodness, there is some rain, there was fear that it would be snow. Ginger came to the market for a visit. She helped cleaned up a bit and gave me some lunch so I wouldn't starve during my working days. She's doing well with her side business of cleaning homes. She cleans the Kent house twice a simweek, I think she sometimes prepares meals for the family and puts them in the freezer for them. I can't imagine coming home to a meal in the freezer to eat. Ginger and her mother spoil me with fresh food each evening after a long day at the market or in the fields.

Ginger and I married at the centre and had tarts afterwards. We then enjoyed a brief honeymoon at the house, maybe later we can travel-during the winter when the crops are dead. Right now, it's important that I take care of the produce. I already had to order from other farmer's thier produce for the hood. Eventually we will be the sole source of food stuffs on the island.

I have a job, I feel like a failure, but mother said that it is important for me to work outside the home as a teen to prepare for working within the home as an adult.

I know that it's mostly because we need the simoleans, but I don't like it.

Dating

I'm not sure I'm up for this whole dating thing. Tobi and I went skating, which was awesome, I loved racing around the rink-even though I fell several times.

However, after skating-he wanted to slow dance-yuck. I couldn't stand having his hands on me and he kept trying to get closer to me.

It's not that he's not a great guy, but...well...he's a guy. I'm not sure that I'm too much into guys if you know what I mean. I wonder how I could tell him that-gee, I'm not too much into you right now since, well, you're a guy.

I got a new job, no more pumping gas downtown. I now work in the Apple Valley Welcome Center's Gift Shop. I'm a cashier and when I become an adult, I will start leading tours.

Future Homemakers

I turned it over to Carmela today. We had a homemaker's outing to celebrate. The group went to the Farmer's Market for organic produce and then to the park for fishing and picnics.

I annouced that Carmela would be the new leader of the group and everysim agreed that it was a good desicion. Especially with her new pregnancy and the changes that she plans to make at her own home. Such a wonderful young sim. She will do well.

Now that the girls are teens and the house is smaller, I am able to spend less time cleaning and cooking and more time gardening. Matthew wants me to get a job, how could he even suggest such an idea. I belong at home! Focused on making the family happier and contributing to the community!

Things are better-our mortgage was refinanced and the job at the bank was taken...actually the current cashier from the Apple Valley Gift Shop took the job, now there's an opening for that...I don't know about that, I would have to restock as well as do the register, plus the pay may not be that much better-at least here, there's free coffee and dessert. Silas-the barista (or is it baristo?) left. He moved to another hood-he was also my neighbor and we carpooled to work together. I might sell the car, I could walk to work...maybe. I told Cassandra that if she wants to continue to stay at home, she might have to start a small garden or something to save money. Maybe she could get a job at the flower shop. Even if it's part-time, that would help.

I've been gain weight...as a result my agent put me on a strict diet...exercise and eating right...actually eating less. I think that since I got my contract for Pahala Shore this season I've been depressed and disappointed, then grandmother's death, it was all too much and that strawberry cake was too yummy. I met Tobi Sweeny today, he's the dreamyest sim in the hood! But why did he talk to Marilyn all the time. I was sincerly upset. Instead of joining thier conversation I sipped coffee and waited for Hazel Starr to finish visiting with her friend...I wonder if I will ever find a guy for me?

Doctor's Orders

Finally made use of the medical centre and visited the doctor for a consultation about my weight. I have a trial starting with visiting the clinic for exercise and nutrition evaluations, I have cut out sweets from my diet and I feel much better. My life is over!!! Things change so quickly. One minute you're enjoying time with your parents, a large home, prestige that comes with fame and then the next minute, you're mourning your parents' death, moving to a home less than a third of the size of the current one and feel as though you are now the bottom of the barrel. *sigh* I must be strong, for the children. Ginger and Marilyn don't care about prestige and reputation (they just had thier teen birthday as well as you can tell in the photos-Matthew is blocked by Hazel Starr), but Hazel Starr...she feels like her life is over, collasped. Hopefully we will get enough from the sale of the home to pay off the back taxes, otherwise I would have to get a job...I can't do that!

Moving

This is it. We are moving. We're selling the house to pay for the back taxes, then we're going to move to one of the affordable homes on Fuji. Cassandra is beside herself in grief over losing the family home, and Hazel Starr...well, she can't believe that she is going to have to live with the "commoners". The house is a two bedroom home-all the girls will share the second bedroom. I have to provide for my family, this is a blow to my ego, but I don't want to go to jail and then what? Cassandra doesn't work, the only income is my salary from the coffee shop and that's been reduced as I'm no longer the manager, just a cashier...maybe I can look into working at the bank. There's an opening for a teller/manager. I could maybe make more money there. But not enough to pay all these bills-$50,000 in back taxes! YIKES!

I still see grandmother...I wonder what she's trying to tell me...maybe to continue my acting and not to let what's going on hurt me...I've been considering auditioning for MMAM2 with my bff Etta Leigh, or maybe I could move to a bigger city, there are no opportunities in this small town anymore. Pooh!

Working for the Simoleans

Things are going bad rather quickly. Shortly after Starr's death, we recieved a package from England. Instead of the expected letter of condolences, there was a bill for back taxes on the property there. We owe $50,000!!! The only way I see to pay that is to sell the family home and moving into something smaller. No amount of overtime I put in will pay that fine. We'll see what happens, but I definately don't want to go to jail!

Robbed!

We were almost robbed. Thank goodness we have the new state-of-the art alarm monitering system (it's installed in every house in Royal Gala).

The police were here in a flash and the burgler was caught. We even claimed a small reward since he was wanted elsewhere in the hood.

I don't know if he will be jailed-I hope so. Thankfully everything was recovered, but it's still a scary feeling.

Tomboy

Marilyn is such a tomboy. She is always playing catch with her father or fetch with Dryfus. I suppose it is well and good. Thankfully Ginger is more like me. She loves standing in the kitchen watching me prepare meals and asking all sorts of questions. Perhaps we should buy her a toy oven, she would love that. Making muffins and such.

Memorial Service

Cassandra is resting, so I'm posting some photos of the memorial service. It was nice to see the family again, it was sad that they were there for a sad occasion. Clark and his wife Elda came, she looked as if she would go in labor anysimday now. Astaire and his wife came, they left the little one at home. Other community friends came, ate desserts, listened to Hazel Starr play a tribute to her grandmother and they paid thier respects. Very nice.

I made the honor roll at school, mum is proud. I am finished with Pahala Shore for the season, grandmother and grandfather are dead. I miss grandmum a lot, she would help me with my lines for the show and make sure that the producer was giving my character quality work and storylines...now grandmum's gone...I'm not sure about this acting thing. It's hard, finding work is hard...my working visa is up soon. After this last season, I must age into an adult or go to university. I think I'll skip uni and try to start acting again.

Such a strange thing, both of my sons are expecting children. I visited them both, perhaps it's true what they say, a new birth means a new death...but why mother and father? Why now?

I will focus on my new grandchildren...and losing this weight I gained after my parents death. I will be the best grandmother!

Worried

I'm worried about Cassandra, she's been taking the death of her parents mighty hard. I sent her to the new community lot-Jacob's Vineyard, so that she could relax and get some lunch and visit the spa. She ended up leaving early and coming home to raid the fridge and cry. She's picking up weight and I'm concerned for her health. Thankfully the memorial service will be soon. I am taking the day off and the children will not go to school. I hope she gets better, I don't know how to comfort her in this time of sorrow.

Dead

Mother and father are dead. Old age. I am still in shock. The pastor dropped by to make sure that the family was alright and to discuss the arrangements. Thankfully they left very detailed instructions, so we are preparing for thier funeral this simFriday. That should leave plenty of time for annoucements and other arrangements to be made. I must buy some funeral snapdragons and dresses for the girls, the boys need to be notified, I...I think I need a cup of tea...

Older

Cassandra and I are getting older, also her parents are getting older. I've noticed that they are moving slower and I fear that soon they will be bedridden and then their time...will be done. I think they know it too. They have been talking about what kind of funeral they want, what flowers on their grave site and even what poems should be read. I wish I could get Starr's old trophies, she misses them and it would be great to bury her with them.

Bad news, I am no longer the manager at CupaJava. I am now just a cashier...for now. Apparently I'm too "bossy", isn't that my job? Well now I manage the bakery section which smells delicious! I still get to help out more than a normal cashier. I will help plan the new shipment of coffee in the store and rearrange the magazine and reading area for more efficiency.

The photographers from "Celebrity Homes" arrived and we gave them a tour of the house. Tom and I updated our wills, we don't have much longer here. I can feel it.

We have a blog now, how lovely. O, introductions.

We live in mother's manor, which will soon be mine. Father (Tom) and mother (Starr) are elders and I worry about them. They are aging rather quickly and are in danger of leaving us soon. Mother has been chosen to appear on the new show Celebrity Homes, so I must make sure everything is clean and shiny. O how I love to clean!

Matthew (my darling husband) and I (Cassandra) are both adults, though elderhood is creeping upon us. Our sons (Clark and Astaire) are married while our teenaged daughter, Hazel Starr, is behaving...very unladylike to say the least. She is constantly sneaking out of the home and has even started to be very tart at the mouth.

Thankfully the youngest (Ginger and Marilyn, both children) are little angels. Yes, they were our little surprises, but at this moment in our lives we needed the joy. Matthew is readjusting to being a father to such young children, but I love babies! If elderhood were not upon me I would consider having another child.

Otherwise things are going heaps good. The Historical Society is doing well, we're helping with the rebuilding process in our own way and I have finally gotten that strawberry stain out of the curtain in the kitchen.
